Overview

We will be hosting a panel discussion with visiting members of city state and national jurisdictions from Brazil. This panel discussion will focus on what cities and counties are doing to adapt to climate change and urban flooding. These visitors are invited to the United States under the auspices of the Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program. Their program is arranged by Meridian International Center and in South Florida by Global Ties Miami. The event will be hosted at the FIU Metropolitan Center. In addition to the three visitors from Brazil we will have Dr Nancy Gassman Assistant Public Works Director Sustainability Division from Fort Lauderdale, Dr Ned Murray, FIU Professor, FIU Metropolitan Center, Jill Horwitz Natural Resource Specialist II Broward County Environmental Projects Coordinator and Mr Miguel Ascarrunz, Director Broward County Emergency Management Division.
