As economic development becomes more and more competitive, some cities and regions are focusing on quality of life and urban planning principles to attract talent and promote economic development. You'll learn about the relationship between taxation and economic growth. You'll also hear about two cities, Portland, Oregon and St. Louis, Missouri, each of which are dealing with very different challenges associated with how each city's "place value" affects economic development.
