OMS-CFTPG: Talkin’ ‘bout My Generation - three part seminar to discuss innovations in transportation planning and technology. ----------- 1)From Millennials to Uber to Autonomous Vehicles: How Demographics, Economics and Technology are Changing Transportation Steven E. Polzin, Ph.D., Director, Mobility Policy Research; Center for Urban Transportation Research, University of South Florida This presentation will address how changes in demographics, economics, and technology are impacting travel behavior and the consequences these are likely to have going forward in terms of travel demand, the respective role of various entities in providing transportation, the impacts on the planning process, and the impacts on total travel. ----------- 2) Tampa Bay Managed Lanes Traffic Forecasting Jack Klodzinski, Ph.D., Travel Forecasting Manager, Florida’s Turnpike Chunyu Lu, Project Manager, Gannett Fleming, Inc. The value of time and willingness to pay to travel were used to forecast traffic for managed toll lanes in the Tampa Bay Area. This sketch level forecasting process utilized a two-tiered approach to provide traffic and toll rates for both design traffic and revenue forecast estimations. ----------- 3) Juice – Orlando’s Bike Share Program Sarah Elbadri, Marketing Director, Juice Bike Share Get all the “juice” on the new orange bikes rolling through town. Juice Bike Share will enhance Central Florida’s transportation options with hundreds of bikes around town that are available 24/7. Use them to commute, to do errands, visit friends, or just for fun! Moderated question and answer session will be available after speaker presentation. Planners will learn transportation planning tools and techniques they can utilize in their local jurisdictions.
