In this “Beverly Hills: Past-Present-Future” walk, city planners will lead a tour around the “Golden Triangle” of one of the world’s most famous little cities. • Past: Chronicle the history of the 100-year old, master-planned city and current preservation efforts; • Present: Describe policies and planning strategies that helped to create and maintain a vibrant pedestrian district in the commercial core; • Future: Discuss the unique opportunity to plan for to two forthcoming Purple Line subway stations. • Visit o The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, an adaptive reuse and expansion of a historic post office; o Beverly Canon Gardens, an urban oasis adjacent to the Montage Hotel created through a public-private partnership; o Wilshire Boulevard, the modern office corridor and site of future subway station; o A stroll down Rodeo Drive, the glamorous and iconic shopping street.
