Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Summit, over 200 people, from elected officials and public sector leaders, to community advocates and private sector business executives, are expected to attend the 2nd Annual SWFL Sustainability Summit. We will focus on bringing experts in the healthcare, business, government, and city planning industry together to talk about redefining the trajectory of Southwest Florida’s future. The keynote speaker is Mary Benecke, past Vice President of Public Affairs & Corporate Communications for Dow Corning Corporation. People will discuss and consider concepts relating to health, the built environment, and profit as they relate to one other. This event is non-promotional. Participants will gain valuable technical knowledge shared by environmental and sustainability experts, land use planners, and other interested professionals. There will be formal presentations, public discussion, and opportunities for questions, answers, and dialogue. The educational objective will be appropriate for AICP members as they learn new developments in technology, the natural environment, and land use. The speakers will draw on professional experience in land use planning and other fields. The content will not be basic in nature, but will be an in depth discussion about critical matters to planners and other professionals.
