The program will offer an overview of the planning and entitlement process for the Homewood Ski Area Masterplan, one of only two such plans in the Lake Tahoe Basin.  The planning and entitlement process took nearly four years, involved an extensive environmental impact review process and culminated with approvals from two separate governmental agencies (Placer County & the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency).  Attendees with learn about the business case behind the master plan, the importance of community outreach and input in the planning process, the benefits of infill development, architectural design & engineering guided by historic precedent and green building criteria, alternative transportation initiatives, and the environmental and economic benefits of the master plan for the region.
