The annual Planners’ Day at the State Capitol Eventwill provide Arizona planners an opportunity to help elevate the stature of the planning profession in Arizona by interacting with state legislators and showcasing key plans.
APA AZ has developed a Planning & Legislature 101 presentation session for this event:
Prior to the speakers, planners will showcase key plans to state legislators in effort to elevate the stature of the planning profession in Arizona.
9:30-10 -- Governor Doug Ducey's 2016 Legislative Agenda by Rene Guillen, Transportation and Government Policy Advisor for Governor Ducey
Rene joined the Ducey Administration in January of 2015. He is responsible for advising Governor Ducey on all legislation pertaining to the cities, counties, transportation, infrastructure, and more. He previously served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the League of Cities and Towns.
10:00-10:30 -- Legislation Impacting Arizona's Counties by Daniel Romm, Senior Legislative Liaison at the Arizona County Supervisors Association
Daniel is responsible for the development and implementation for CSA's state legislative program. Prior to joining the CSA, he was the Legislative Liasion for the Arizona Department of Housing.
