Stretching from Miami's urban core to its sprawling suburbs, the Miami River was for many years neglected and its natural and historic value overlooked. The Miami River Commission, created by the State Legislature to improve the river after years of pollution and neglect, adopted the Miami River Corridor Urban Infill Plan in an effort to guide and effect responsible development in and along the riverfront.

Brett Bibeau, Managing Director of the Miami River Commission, will lead a boat tour highlighting recent and planned development projects along the riverfront. Attendees will learn first-hand about the challenges of balancing the preservation of this natural and historic resource with the recently intensified focus on urban redevelopment within this burgeoning corridor.
