One of the most important steps in the development process includes understanding the potential financial performance of an investment. Nothing moves forward and serious dollars are not spent until underwriting is evaluated and conservative return hurdles are met. Mr. Herman will provide a look into basic development underwriting criteria utilized by developers in making financial decisions. He will walk through examples of residential and commercial financial overviews that span multiple asset classes that shape such decisions. Attendees should walk away with a better understanding of how developers evaluate capital risk and ultimately decide on whether to pull the development trigger, or not.
