The presentation featured an overview of the new Port Tampa Bay Master Plan. This overview touched on the current, historic, and future economic, historic, and environmental significance of the Port to the greater Tampa Bay Region. The presentation was conducted by John Thorington, Vice President of Government Affairs and Board Coordination.
A hands-on exploration of the Port of Tampa from the shrimping boats and cargo ships to the cruise ships. The boat tour included firsthand views and descriptions of the Port’s operations including various activities, new cranes, containers storage areas, and boat maintenance stations. In addition, attendees had the opportunity to view an endangered bird habitat developed from a Port dredging project, and learned numerous Port facts and historical background.
