This training is offered by the Shoreline and Coastal Planners Group (in partnership with the Coastal Training Program). Local shoreline planners face many opportunities and challenges with both planning and permitting for aquaculture. Speakers at this forum include Washington Department of Ecology providing a regulatory overview and local government planners sharing their experiences with planning and permitting different types of aquaculture facilities. Participants will learn about different approaches to local, state and federal permitting, public involvement and shoreline master plan development associated with a variety of aquaculture practices in the puget sound region.

The meeting includes a field trip by boat to Penn Cove Shellfish and potential tour of on-shore warehouse.
