To tour and learn about the sucesses and failures of the City of Stuart's Community Redevelopment Agency efforts since 2002, which have received various awards for its innovative projects such as their micro-transit system, Colorado Avenue Business District Improvement project and the outdoor dining program. Today the CRA area encompasses some 694 acres, including portions of the historic downtown area. However, redevelopment efforts also ran into obstacles, and the tour will include a discussion led by Teresa LamarSarno, AICP, Special Assistant to the City Manager, of the many lessons learned and how these programs might be adapted to work in your community.
