Overview

Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority’s inaugural symposium of six invited American downtown organizations (Miami, Charlotte, Kansas City, Nashville, Austin and Fort Lauderdale) will address the question of what elements make up a world class downtown and how downtown development organizations achieved this status with their unique experiences, challenges and opportunities. Their best practices and lessons learned will help to guide and strengthen other downtown organizations through this collaborative effort.

How do the greatest downtowns succeed?  Join the Fort Lauderdale DDA as they convene experts from Miami, Austin, Kansas City, Charlotte, Nashville and Fort Lauderdale at the Downtown Symposium 2016, a unique event for those who are creating world-class downtowns of the future. During the Symposium, the representatives of each downtown will discuss in-depth the successes, opportunities and challenges faced by each of their downtowns. This highly educational conversation will focus on important downtown topics ranging from transportation to parks, workforce housing, homelessness and open space.

Their best practices and lessons learned will help to guide and strengthen other downtown organizations through this collaborative effort.
