Overview

Learn more about the process of applicants transitioning from home brewer to commercial brewery, what breweries are looking for when scouting a place to call home, the hurdles of getting a brewery up and running, and misconceptions about breweries vs. clubs, bars, and nightclubs. The panel will discuss entitlement issues for breweries as well as land use and nuisance issues that can arise when breweries are located in established light industrial or commercial areas.

Planning Objectives: Participants will learn about land use issues related to the hybrid use of breweries as production facilities and tasting rooms. The potential conflicts that arise when these uses are added to light industrial or commercial areas will be explored.
