 OMS-CFTPG: Traveling Visitors

Planners will learn a mutitude of options avaiable to connect the millions of visitors to Central Florida throughout the region and to other areas of the State.  Planners will learn pros and cons of several different transportation alternatives and how master planning effort can support long range goals.  By understanding the number and types of visitors to the region, planners will be able to better serve the needs of this large group of potential multi-modal users.

 

 

Technical overview on Brightline, connecting Miami and West Palm Beach in mid-2017

...an express train service that will provide safe, relaxing, intercity travel connecting Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Orlando along a 235- mile route, is an important new travel alternative in Florida and the first of its kind in the United States. Transportation Master Planning – From 1966 and to Infinity and Beyond

This presentation will provide a brief historical perspective beginning with Walt Disney’s master plan and ending with our current transportation master plan that includes roadway projects currently underway and four roadway projects scheduled to be underway within the next year.

 

 

 

Central Florida Visitor Study Update

The Central Florida Visitor Study Update intends to fully understand visitor travel in the region, enhance existing planning tools, and ultimately generate a list of recommendations in order to integrate transportation and tourism objectives of Central Florida while maximizing return on investment. The presentation will provide an overview of the ongoing Study and unveil a number of interesting visitor data sources.
