INDOT is hosting a Common Paths Training Course, led by consultants from TY LIN, to explore how complete streets policies aim to make streets more accessible for all users, ie)bike/ped, ADA, transit, vehicles. The Course will introduce the policy concept (what is "complete streets" and why is it important), then dig deeper into design (bikes, peds, transit), planning, decision making, performance measures and implementation. A guided biking/walking tour will be conducted to provide an opportunity for attendees to see local bike/pedestrians projects. There will also be a group "design challenge" at the end of the day where attendees will be assigne an intersection, and they will be challenged to create a new design for that intersection based on what they learned.
