Overview

This training is a series of statewide coordinated efforts to promote the use of coastal flood hazard assessment tools.  The trainers and tools: Building Coastal Flood Hazard Resiliency in Florida's Regional Planning Council Communities Grant, funded by the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), brings together the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity 9DEO) and Florida's Regional Planning Councils to create regional Vulnerability Assessments and conduct a series of trainings.

 

Workshop Goals:

Introduce adaptation assessment tools for visualizing vulnerableility and enhancing preparedness.

Present and focus on assessment tools in greater detail.

Review a Bulnerability Assessment conducted for Charlotte County and Punta Gorda, FL.

Conduct region specific assessments in small groups using the tools introduces.
