This free boat tour is made possible by a competitive grant from APA. The boat tour is through one of the tour boats located on the Historic Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks. The boat ride will feature a diver dressed in traditional diving gear who will retrieve a sponge from underwater, as well as a narrative of the history of sponge diving in Tarpon Springs. Libby Carnahan from the UF/IFAS Extension will be on board to talk about environmental aspects of the area.

Immediately following, Tarpon Springs Planning & Zoning Director Heather Urwiller will lead us on a walking tour, where she will highlight the form-based code or transect based code they have implemented recently in their CRA and will touch on the cultural aspects of the Greek history of the town.
