Overview

The former chief of the public affairs department at the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) will give a behind-the-scenes look at the critical milestones in the creation of BART – its early inception as nothing more than an idea on a piece of paper to the present-day 100+ mile system of concrete and steel. The speaker points out in his recently-published book that BART came within a “gnat’s eyelash” of not happening at all.
