Overview

Montgomery County has established a rich variety of parks for recreation, relaxation and civic engagement.  This session will introduce planners to new ways of activating and programming public open spaces in urban, mixed-use areas based on successes experienced by both a nonprofit corporation and a local government.

Best practices will be presented to offer planners suggestions on how to transform public open spaces into destinations for recreational, cultural and commercial activities which promote community.
