Overview

Christopher Coutts, the director of the Masters in Science in Planning at the Florida State University Department of Urban and Regional Planning, will lead a discussion on green infrastructure and public health. The discussion will be based on his book Green Infrastructure and Public Health. He will also answer questions from attendees on the topic. 

Participants will learn about current research and theories of the ecological relationships and mechanisms by which the environment influences human health and health behavior.

The discussion will present the case for fundamental human dependence on the natural environment and create a bridge between contemporary science on the structure and form of a healthy landscape and the myriad ways that a healthy landscape supports healthy human beings.
