Art of Planning Connecticut Workshop III is a indepth examination of innovation and emerging practices by Connecticut Planners. The Art of Planning Connecticut Roadshow is design to educate attendees about emerging and innovative planning practices utilized by Connecticut municipal, regional, state, and consulting planners. This program is the first in a series that will educate AICP planners on state of the art planning policy, programs, and projects through connection with other colleagues in Connecticut. An overarching goal of this and future events is to inspire Connecticut Planners, promote the practice of innovative local, regional and state planning in Connecticut, and increase the visibility and value of the profession to Connecticut's future.
The speakers will individually describe new and innovative practices that they have employed. The moderator will facilitate discussion on how these projects and policies contribute or can contribute to overall comprehensive planning for Connecticut. Following the presentations by the speakers, the moderator will conduct an interactive shared conversation between the speakers and the participants: questions on the projects presented, other planning practices currently being used by participants in Connecticut. Planners will leave with new information about what other communities are doing to address land use and planning issues and strategies to implement in their own towns.
