Overview

Each year, UCF's Urban and Regional Planning Distinguished Lecture Series hosts some of the nation's leading planning experts to participate to present and discuss projects, thoughts, movements, and innovations in the field. This semester we are proud to highlight Orlando’s own Creative Village project as the ultimate partnership endeavor. Soon to be the home of the new UCF Downtown campus, Creative Village will to transform the former Amway Arena site into a 68-acre mixed-use, transit oriented, urban infill neighborhood, connecting community and neighbors to new employment and educational opportunities.

This even is open to the public and supported by generous contributions from VHB MillerSellen, Metroplan Orlando, GAI Consultants, APA Orlando Metro Section and other members of the Central Florida planning community.

You’ll learn about:

• Challenges and opportunities of planning through public-private partnerships

• Planning and designing a mixed-use master plan, anchored by a leader in higher education

• Managing community growth while leveraging opportunities for economic development

• Neighborhood/Community planning and preservation
