Join us for Part 1 of a planned two-part series on Wireless Telecommunication Facility (WTF) regulations. Part 1 will focus on federal regulations. Planners will be given an overview of important federal FCC rules that affect our everyday decision-making when considering wireless telecommunication facilities. This session will be geared towards practicing planners, and in particular those responsible for zoning code maintenance and wireless facility review. Shot clocks and eligible facilities modifications will be part of the discussion.

John Pestle

John Pestle is a member of Varnum LLP's Environmental, Energy and Natural Resources Team. Since 1996 he has represented property owners across the country on the grant, renewal and modification of cell tower leases with companies like Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile and Sprint. He has represented clients on the evaluation or sale of over seventy (70) cell tower leases and future leasing rights to companies like American Tower, Crown Castle, SBA Communications, Tarpon Towers, Unison, Tri-Star Investors and Landmark Dividend. Many of these leases and sales were for antennas on or near buildings, smokestacks, water towers or other structures and thus were particularly complicated so as to protect the client's future use of the building, structure, water tower etc. for its primary purpose. His clients include institutions (real estate companies, municipalities, schools, churches, businesses) as well as individuals (land owners, real estate developers) and trusts.
