The current retail landscape is characterized by an onslaught of store closures, a rise in e-commerce sales, and the over-abundance of retail space across the nation and in Prince George's County. This session will provide an understanding of these trends and their impact on economic development initiatives, zoning and ordinances, and mixed use/corridor planning. With this information, planners can begin to wrestle with the future of commercial land use while understanding the everchanging needs of retailers.
