Overview

The Broward Section of FAPA is hosting a Legislative Luncheon that will provide participatns with the latest information regarding the recent legislative session in Tallahaseee.  Matthew Grinder, Senior Counsel at GreenspoonMarder and Lester Abberger, FAPA Legislative Representative will provide infomration on important community planning bills that passed and failed and how they impact state and local governments in Florida. The recent legislative session considered laws that would seriously pre empt the ability of local governments to regulate land use and business regulations. The constitutionality of such laws was hotly debated. This appears to be a national trend of state governments attempting to redefine their role visa vi municipal government. The speakers will contribute their own perspective on this trend as well as the immediate impact on local issues such as medial marijuana dispensories, vacation rental and more.
