Overview

Stay up to date on asbestos regulations and how to comply with the key Federal statutes.

Asbestos was used in a number of building materials and products and has a controversial history. Asbestos was used due to its strength, and insulating and fire-proofing qualities. It can be found in ceiling and floor tiles, cement pipe and sheet, and drywall. When materials that contain asbestos are disturbed, this can often generate airborne asbestos fibers that often cannot be seen.

This topic will provide you with knowledge of asbestos construction standard and an overview of the history of asbestos use in construction. You will also gain an understanding of the EPA and OSHA regulations. It will also provide a guideline for the present day Federal regulations which govern the use of asbestos removal, reporting and management.
