For AECOM Employees Only - This course, to be presented via live webinar for AECOM employees, will provide the foundation for ethical behavior in accordance with AECOM’s Core Values, which are perfectly aligned with the AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. AECOM employees will have a clear understanding of what is expected of them while providing guidance on business standards and practices. The guidelines presented in the course are meant to raise awareness and serve as a reference for what is and what is not considered appropriate conduct. The course will include the following ethics-related topics: 1. Maintaining a respectful workplace that is free of discrimination and harassment and which promotes a safe and healthy work environment focused on the development of the profession by improving knowledge and techniques and producing work relevant to solve community problems. This is perfectly aligned with a planner’s responsibility to the profession and colleagues 2. Upholding ethical business practices with fair competition and fair dealing that will ensure diligent, creative, independent and competent work product in pursuit of client interest aligned with the overarching public interests 3. Conducting international business by adhering to international antibribery laws, export controls and antiboycott laws, which is aligned with a planner’s self responsibility of high professional integrity 4. Protecting company assets including intellectual property, accurate book keeping appropriate records management which are aligned with a planner’s responsibility to employer 5. Avoiding conflict of interest with a primary obligation to serve public interest, which is aligned with a planner’s responsibility to the public 6. Pursuing community involvement which will help define the public interest.
