Overview

This customized Redevelopment course provides an examination of the myriad of roles in facilitating redevelopment with an emphasis on the municipal and private sector perspective. There are an extensive array of economic development tools available however many times these tools are not fully understood or utilized to promote economic growth and development.  This course will explore these different development strategies and discuss tools used to stimulate new investment, economic development and sustainable communities. Topics will include defining the components of Real Estate Project Financials; providing an overview of Redevelopment Area Bonds (RAB), Bond Financing and Tax Increment Financing (TIF); and explore a variety of federal and state funding sources designed to support real estate development.
