The Southern Nevada Strong summit will be a morning program that will provide a comprehensive snapshot of the successes of SNS regional partners and stakeholders who truly embrace the theme of “regionalism/working together.” The event will begin with welcome remarks and a high-level overview of SNS accomplishments for the year. The event will start with a keynote address from Mayor Mike Cornett of Oklahoma City, in which he will share his experience with working toward shared, common goals through collaboration. The Mayor will share his experience about advancing major infrastructure projects, collaborating with community leaders, and championing important causes.
A panel discussion will focus on regional housing issues, particularly access and affordability, and how housing is related to workforce, and opportunity.
The final session will introduce the new Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada's Comprehensive Transit Plan for Southern Nevada called On Board. This visionary plan will identify how enhancements to the current bus system, new high capacity transit services and emerging transit technologies can improve future mobility and accessibility for our residents and visitors. The plan is expected to take approximately 18 to 24 months to develop and be completed by fall 2018.
