BAPA is presenting a Lunch and Learn with representatives of Broward County and the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization regarding the recent Broward Transportation Surtax. Broward representatives will describe how they intend to use data to change the way we have traditionally accomplished transportation planning.  Additionally, they will provide a demonstration of how we are planning to deliver projects to complement land use, improve resiliency and improve efficiency/cost effectiveness.  The MPO reprsentatives  would complement this by describing how the surtax will be integrated into their federally-mandated planning processes.  Participatns wil learn:

o   How land use informed the Plan that went to the voters in 2018

o   A review of what’s in that Plan, what has been advanced thus far and what is in the works for FY2020

o   Use of data to enhance quality of transportation planning in the near-term and long-term

o   How using a corridor delivery model will inform project prioritization/coordination among various stakeholders

o   Description of the MPO’s role in surtax planning and prioritization of projects
