Poster: Cultural heritage and civic engagement in coastal adaptation planning
This poster explores how civic engagement can serve as a mechanism for identifying, assessing and promoting cultural heritage in the adaptation planning process. An analysis of municipal adaptation plans identifies how civic engagement is integrated into coastal planning practice today.
Confirmed SpeakerMadeleine Helmer is a graduate student in City Planning and Historic Preservation at the University of Pennsylvania School of Design. Her research interests include environmental planning for historic cities and regions, developing civic engagement and research methods that enhance and preserve a community's sense of place.
