Tech Zone: A New Model for Citizen Engagement with CiviComment

Sunday, May 7, 2017 | 3 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

CiviComment solves a common dilemma that planners face when they release a draft version of a plan and need feedback from a large group of stakeholders. Typically, they post the draft online as a pdf for participants to download and ask for feedback. What happens is they receive lots of unstructured feedback — emails with long bullet lists, phone calls that they have to transcribe, or printed and red-lined version of the document via mail. Which they then have to organize and make sense of. CiviComment drastically simplifies this process.

During this demonstration, Chris Haller will show how CiviComment allows participants to comment directly on the pdf and respond or support other's comments. Project managers can address concerns or answer questions on the platform, and download a report when the comment period is over.
