Paul V. Luersen, FAICP
Paul Luersen has devoted his long planning career to improving infrastructure to make better communities, believing that planning is for people and that a community’s culture and values will inform you on the right course of action to take when based on a sound, rational analysis. Recently, he was the stakeholder task leader for Hawaii’s statewide pedestrian master plan, which received the APA National Planning Excellence Award for Transportation Planning. And he has brought Hawaii closer to its sustainability goal of 100 percent renewable energy through his planning work on constructed wind farms and soon-to-be constructed solar farms. Inducted in 2016.
