Jerome L. Kaufman, FAICP

Professor Jerry Kaufman who in 1999 received the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning "Distinguished Service Award" is well known for his efforts in defining the role that ethical behavior plays in the planning profession. A major portion of his 45-year planning/teaching career has been devoted to making ethical practice an ongoing yardstick for the performance of city planners. Jerry developed the first full-semester curriculum addressing ethics. Jerry has now moved on to planning regional food systems, from food production through the cycle to food disposal. Jerry's efforts have always added new direction to the way planners think. Inducted in 2000.
