Nohad A. Toulan, FAICP

Founding dean of the College of Urban and Public Affairs, Portland State University; first planning director of the Greater Cairo Region and author of many of the concepts influencing the current development of the region; directed the participation of a Comprehensive Regional Development Plan for the Holy City of Makkah in Saudi Arabia; one of a small group of individuals who drafted the original Portland urban growth boundary; a major contributor to future vision in Portland and Oregon; author of the basic concepts guiding the university's role in the community, including the development of the University District. Inducted in 2000.
