Fritz W. Wagner, FAICP

Fritz Wagner has a long and distinguished career in teaching and mentoring students, citizens, local journalists, practicing planners, and planning commissioners. As a professor and founding dean of the College of Urban and Public Affairs at the University of New Orleans, he has been an activist academic-planner who has raised the level of planning awareness throughout the state of Louisiana and New Orleans metro region. Through the college, which he led for 20 years, he has transformed urban and regional planning in the state, and as a result, many comprehensive plans and smart growth initiatives are underway in the New Orleans area.
