Emil E. Malizia, FAICP
Since 1969, Emil E. Malizia has been an outstanding educator to over 800 master's and 50 doctoral students attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of City and Regional Planning. He has successfully mentored 10 junior faculty during his term as department chair, thereby ensuring high-quality professional education for future planners. Malizia has authored over 150 scholarly publications with many focused on improving planning practice. His teaching and research has provided both foundational and cutting-edge knowledge about regional economic development and urban redevelopment for planners in the United States and Canada.
