Robert E. Sullivan, FAICP

Robert Sullivan effectively transitioned his community from developer-driven suburban sprawl to a place that emphasizes quality of life and sustainable design focused on enhancing everyday experiences. He emphasized environmental ethics and urban design principles, implementing those by setting up successful collaborative design review processes and making capital improvements and grants important planning tools. Bob made significant gains in open land acquisition, protection of natural resources, trail system expansion and leveraged public investments into desirable place-making. Bob was a founding member of the first APA pro bono program. He continues to mentor, train plan commissioners and assist in regional planning efforts. Inducted 2016.
