Al Zelinka, FAICP
Al Zelinka's career is premised upon ‘making a difference’ in communities and the profession. As a city planning manager, principal of a planning consultancy, and a nonprofit program coordinator, he has improved the quality of communities throughout the West — and across America — through his practice in: public safety through planning and design; small town, neighborhood, and downtown revitalization; and community-based planning, urban design, and implementation. His professional contributions as an instructor, a speaker and author, a board member and volunteer for APA sections and chapters, a national conference co-founder, a planning scholarship founder, and a mentor have benefitted many.
