Theresa Schwarz, FAICP
Terry Schwarz works at the intersection of research and practice. As director of Kent State University’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative, she leads an innovative urban design and planning practice that serves the needs of diverse communities. She has simultaneously built a robust research agenda at the CUDC with a focus on ecological urbanism, community engagement, and the complex challenges of depopulating cities. Research and practice are inseparable—the CUDC’s design practice generates a wide range of relevant and urgent research questions, and its research informs the practice, deploying new ideas and strategies in urban communities. Inducted 2016.
