People Behind the Plans: Bob Becker, FAICP
New Orleans's City Park is the largest regional park in Louisiana and the most-visited. But 13 years ago today, Hurricane Katrina devastated most of NOLA, including that well-loved civic space.
For this special episode of the People Behind the Plans podcast series, recorded in New Orleans at NPC18, host Courtney Kashima, AICP, talked with Bob Becker, FAICP, CEO of City Park and an adjunct professor at the University of New Orleans. They looked back at Katrina's destructive effects on the park and how important its just-completed master plan was for charting a forward course during recovery. Becker also traced his career trajectory, including working in Indonesia and earning a later-than-typical PhD.
This podcast and the entire series are available on APA's website, iTunes, and Stitcher. |
