APA AMBASSADORS

APA Ambassador Challenge
Early in my career, I wanted to engage with communities, but my job responsibilities did not include that. Then I learned about APA's Ambassador program, volunteered, and created a strategy for sharing with my own community the great importance of planning. I met many like-minded planners, community champions, thinkers, and doers. Most important, I reached folks — including young people and children — who knew nothing about planning or planners.

Many APA planners have participated in this worthwhile program. Now, I challenge you to volunteer as an APA Ambassador to expand local understanding of planning and, perhaps, empower individuals who typically are not included in planning decisions.
Volunteering is easy, and all that's required is to conduct two activities in 2018. APA resources to guide and inspire you include a toolkit and a series of Ambassadors' blog posts. I encourage you to learn more and sign up as an APA Ambassador by January 31.
I find nothing more professionally rewarding than sharing knowledge and good practice where we live, work, play, and learn. I would be delighted to see your name on the list of 2018 APA Ambassadors. If you have questions, please contact me or APA's Monica Groh.
