In the cover story, maps produced with GIS software dramatically illustrate where the epidemic hits hardest: in rural areas, especially in a broad swath of middle America. Planners are using this visual geographic data as they join public health workers and policy makers in the fight against deadly substance abuse.
Planning magazine wants to hear from you! Tell us what you're most looking forward to at NPC18 in New Orleans, and you may find your and fellow planners' answers in an upcoming issue. The March 9 deadline to weigh in is fast approaching, so cast your vote today.
