Four issues rise to the top of the legislative priority list for planners in 2020. Climate change and resiliency, federal data and technology, housing affordability and availability, and surface transportation reauthorization and infrastructure investment will be the focus of our advocacy work for the year ahead.

Planners are already confronting these challenges — helping communities navigate new risks, increased costs and funding uncertainty, and deteriorating conditions without the federal support they require — as legislators debate solutions. Our time to influence these discussions on behalf of our communities is now!

APA will send our 2020 policy priorities to Congress later this week.
