An accurate Census is crucial to planners — giving essential data to plan for housing, transportation, pandemic recovery, and resilience with equity at the forefront. Although the deadline was extended to October 31, communities should expect an end date of October 5, based on an order from Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.
This year's National Community Planning Month theme is "Planners are Essential to Recovery." Planners are demonstrating the importance of their work on the ground as they wrap up their outreach to hard-to-count communities. It is critical that communities use these last moments to be creative and resourceful; their futures depend on it.
