Sites Southwest has an exciting career opportunity for a qualified and self-motivated project manager for our planning group. The successful applicant will manage projects from conception through completion and coordinate multidisciplinary teams with our landscape architecture and environmental planning staff and our subconsultants. The position is based in our Albuquerque office. Project locations are throughout New Mexico and the El Paso area. Travel is required.

Job Description

The firm is seeking a talented individual to lead our planning projects. The firm’s portfolio of projects includes comprehensive plans; downtown and redevelopment plans; housing plans; development process (zoning and land use); collection and analysis of socioeconomic data; public speaking and meeting attendance; public participation and input facilitation; creation of maps, graphics and other exhibits; plan writing; and proposal writing. Applicant should exhibit knowledge of land use regulations – traditional zoning, form based codes, design standards, subdivision regulations. Our clients include municipalities, counties, state agencies, private developers and institutions.

This position will be a primary point of contact with our clients and teaming partners. The position provides an opportunity for a person who can work comfortably in multidisciplinary teams, both as the team leader and as a subject matter expert.

Minimum qualifications include a graduate degree in community and regional planning or related degree. Applicant should have 5 to 10 years of experience following graduation, with increasingly responsible roles in land and site planning, policy development, plan and proposal writing and project management. Applicant must be able to work independently and organize a project team to meet deadlines and budgets. Planning certification is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is essential. Spanish language skills, proficiency in software relevant to planning projects and previous consulting experience will be considered a plus.
