Prince William County is currently in the process of updating their comprehensive plan which allows for the exciting opportunity to be involved in setting the long-term growth strategy for the county. We are looking for an innovative, highly creative, team-oriented planner who is interested in helping guide Prince William County’s growth plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing and drafting text for significant chapters of the Comprehensive Plan for presentation to the Board of County Supervisors; performing analysis and researching best practices to help formulate and support changes to the Comprehensive Plan; facilitating, soliciting and incorporating citizen input into planning efforts; and effectively conveying planning information and recommendations to the Board of County Supervisors, Planning Commission and other Boards, Committees and Commissions.

Hiring Salary: $62,029.5 - $83,674.50
Schedule: Full-time; requires occasional evening meetings.
Preferences: Excellent public speaking, oral and written communications
Ability to analyze and interpret policies.
AICP certification preferred
Master's Degree preferred
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Planning or related field, 3-5 years of progressively responsible professional planning experience in a field appropriate to the assignment of the position, and 1-year supervisory experience of staff.
