SUMMARY: The Development Technician will provide customer service to developers, contractors, and the general public, and assist staff with the Commission process.
The entry-level position is ideal for a candidate looking to get exposure to local government and, more specifically, the functions of the Community Development Department. An ideal candidate would have strong customer service skills, the ability to function in a fast-paced environment and represent the City of Peoria to the general public in a professional manner.
S/he will learn and execute the development process, including facilitating the issuing of building permits and zoning certificates, submission of building plans, and the process of project approval through local government.
Associates degree from an accredited college or university, a minimum typing speed of 55wpm; and three to four years of related experience required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, considered.
