The CRPA is an Agency of the Centre Region Council of Governments (COG) serving six municipalities in the State College area of Centre County, PA. The planning area has a population of approximately 92,000 people and a geographic area of 150 square miles. The Centre Region is home to Penn State University’s main campus and is a beautiful university community nestled in the green mountains of central Pennsylvania. The Centre Region has all the advantages of a university town, including a wide variety of educational and cultural opportunities, Big Ten sports, and many outdoor adventures.
The CRPA is seeking a talented individual to fill a key position in the organization. The position includes responsibility for a variety of planning projects at the regional level to help implement the comprehensive plan, and includes responsibility for providing local planning services to Halfmoon Township, one of the six municipalities in the Centre Region. The successful candidate will have experience working in a complex organizational environment, with the skills to build consensus with elected officials, appointed officials, residents, authorities, and other stakeholders in the Centre Region. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience in making public presentations, and experience with local planning issues, including land development plan reviews, rezonings, and zoning text amendments are essential.
The position provides support to the Centre Regional Planning Commission, the COG Transportation and Land Use Committee, the COG Public Services and Environmental Committee, the COG General Forum, and the Halfmoon Township Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission.
